Bird Walk

In an attempt to keep our whole family active, Hubbs suggested a trip to the Wharf to enjoy the Bird Walk.

Every day we make small (sometimes unrecognizable) changes to our activity levels and eating habits with ulterior motives. Of course, one day in the near future we might have an All Star Canuck on our hands, but the only way to achieve such a goal is to ensure a love of activity (and fruits and veggies).
On Wednesday afternoon we headed down to do the walk in the smoky sunshine. I lathered up Monster in sunscreen, packed all the essential baby items, and extra water for our pug-kid Lola.

(Note: It is not recommended that parents use sunscreen on an infant under the age of 6 months, however I personally take that risk because I feel sunscreen has to be less dangerous and painful then a sunburn. Also, Thank you to careless people, and Mother Nature for making my province an ashtray. AGAIN.)

Unfortunately, besides from the benefits of fresh air, our attempts to make Monster appreciate the outdoors and the wilderness around us were fruitless... He almost immediately fell asleep, which, I can't blame him. Apparently bumpy rides are soothing.

Our first born Lola is a pug and pugs aren't necessarily built for summer exercise because by the time we were walking back to the truck it sounded like we were surrounded by several panting dogs. Not just the one. She is incredibly passive, and lazy so she was totally Ok with being carted around in the bottom of the stroller in order to rest and cool off.

The walk didn't take only (maybe an hour) but I was certainly drenched in sweat when we were finished.
