Infant Clothing Style

One of my favorite parts of being a mommy is dressing my Monster in freakin' adorable infant clothing!

I often joke about how if Monster doesn't slow his growing down I might end up bankrupt with only an awesome infant wardrobe to show for it. That might be an exaggeration, but I want what's best for my Monster, and sometimes that means not saying "No!" to my inner shopoholic.

Last week I was browsing Orchard Park mall in Kelowna with KK for the first time since Monsters birth. They have some children's clothing stores that I've never shopped in like, The Children's Place. I was so impressed with this little store that I want to go back and buy Christmas gifts for my younger nieces!

The biggest draw to that store for me was how their infant clothing looks like "little-big kid" clothing. I only like to dress Monster in clothing that looks like it could be warn by a big kid or adult even. Basically, I hate baby blue and little squishy Teddy bears everywhere I look.

I knew that Hubbs would love this sweater, but I couldn't talk myself into spending $25 on one article of infant clothing... Even though it's freakin' rad!

Mommy Play Dates!

I discovered that meeting new people isn't as scary as I make it out to be in my head.

Hubbs and I met while working at our high school job at a local gas station. We worked together often, thoroughly got to know each other and then started dating. He was my first (and obviously only) boyfriend so I never experienced the pressure of meeting someone for the first time in a one on one experience.

I thought that I just would never do it. I would never meet someone blindly on my own. Until I became a mommy. Apparently my new favorite thing to talk about is my baby, and parenting.

Today I met a lovely lady (for privacy blogging purposes I will call her KK) for a coffee/shopping date. Since we didn't know each other before hand we made it a short appointment, but it went so well! KK's son is 2 days older then Monster and he is her first as well. We have a bunch of random things in common over and above our little boys.

Meeting and talking to her was so relaxed and easy that it's made me think that it's actually not as hard as I thought. Hopefully we will be able to keep in touch, and not let the distance prevent more mommy play dates!

Thank you KK!

Shopping Day pt: Two

You'd think after a full day of shopping and traveling a 5 month old would be exhausted right? Not mine.

When Monster gets bored of the same four walls and old toys in our house the best way to stop the fuss and whine is to take him somewhere. Which is exactly what we did.

A local (super awesome) specialty baby store in our town is currently having a moving sale; meaning everything is at least 50% off (Thank you Baby Barn!) so the Hubbs and I finally made our way down to check it out today.

Most of the store had already been picked through, but we did find a couple gems!

This adorable Red Rooster shirt was originally $19.99 (which I think is ludicrious for a shirt Monster would only be able to wear a few times before his Monsterous self grows out of the darn thing) but we got it for $5. I think it's overflowing with cuteness and it reminds me of an old sailor tattoo.

Anyone who knows Hubbs knows he's a pretty huge dork. Along with his insane obsession for anything cinema and game related he's also a major comment book nerd. My child is doomed! Anyways, we found some Spiderman wall stickies for Monsters bedroom!

The best thing about them is you can move then whenever, and thy won't peel your paint. So cute! Today was certainly a good shopping day!

Baby Model and Shopping Adventures

This mommy just can't get enough cute baby clothes for her little man!

Today was yet another shopping day for my Monster and I, just this time replace auntie TG with my mom. We headed out to Vernon for an appointment and then cruised Walmart and Superstore.

It doesn't matter if I have money to spend or if I'm looking for anything specific we always have to check out the baby section of every store. At the Superstore we found the cutest little beanie hat for Monster to model.

He is such happy little shopper. We didn't buy the hat because it was already a tight fit, but modeling is almost as fun... Right? Grandma did buy him a couple new pajam-jam sets and an adorable outfit though.

Here is my little trooper in the Walmart cart checking out the new toy grandma picked out for him. My mom (who is a first time grandparent by the way) and I were in awe of the toy section today. I dread the time Christmas shopping rolls around, because her and I may go bankrupt just shopping for my Monster!

(Please note his absolutely adorable outfit. Cherokee polo and jeans both on sale $5 a piece at Zellers)
